Fans of This Morning have taken a shine to this particular TV presenter and have threatened to stop watching unless he joins the sofa next to Holly Willoughby permanently.

Presenter co-hosts have included the likes of Dermott O'Leary, Alison Hammond and Josie Gibson, but it's Craig Doyle who appears to have been the biggest hit since the exit of Phillip Schofield.

The Irish TV and radio presenter, 52, has left viewers wanting more and calling for ITV bosses to snap him up full-time.

Fans tweeted:"If @ITV don't give Craig Doyle the permanent presenter role on #ThisMorning they are missing a trick, the man is a breath of fresh air," commented a viewer.

Another added: "Love love love Craig Doyle, such a breathe of fresh air and the Godfather with live tv."

One Twitter user posted: "Craig Doyle establishing in cement his credentials to replace Phil 100%."

"Well done Craig Doyle - give him the full time job. He deserves it. He’s entertaining, relatable & intelligent & above all decent," wrote a third.

"Me and my mother will boycott This Morning if Craig Doyle doesn’t get the job. Easy on the eyes," said a fourth.

ITV shared an update on the vacancy last month and said that 'any further announcements concerning future presenters of the show would be made in due course'.

The spokesperson added: "In the meantime, we will draw on the This Morning family for presenters to co-present with Holly."
