Strictly Come Dancing star Bobby Brazier has candidly revealed his feelings about losing beloved mum and TV star Jade Goody.

Jade, who launched her telly career after appearing on Big Brother, passed away from cervical cancer in 2009 aged 27.

Bobby was only five-years-old when Jade died, and opening up in a newly resurfaced interview with The Face, the EastEnders star admitted that he felt he didn’t have long enough with her.

He explained: “I don’t feel like I was with her long enough to miss her. I miss what could've been. I hear all the time she was such a presence, that she was one of a kind.

“What hurts most is that it wasn't just losing anyone, it was losing Jade. I just would've loved to have seen what other people had seen."

Bobby previously shared how he was considering dedicating a dance to mum Jade during his stint on Strictly Come Dancing

Prior to his stunning dance routines on the weekly BBC competition, Bobby shared with MailOnline the songs he was hoping he would be able to dance to. He said: “There’s a few - it depends on the mood.

“Saturday Love and also This Woman’s Worth by Maxwell - that would be beautiful, I’d hope to make people cry doing that,” he added, before saying: “Maybe I’ll dedicate that one [to my mum]. I haven’t thought about it, but maybe that one.”

Jade’s mum, Jackiey Budden, also opened up about how emotional it would be to see her grandson compete on series 21 of the talent show.

“He’s been born to bring Jade back as himself, because he’s the spit of Jade — he’s got his daddy’s head. It will be like watching her on telly,” Jackiey said.

She also added: “I’m over the moon and he’s just stepped in his mum’s shoes — he’s in Jade’s trotters.”

Bobby will land in Blackpool on Strictly Come Dancing this Saturday (18th November) with pro-partner Dianne Buswell, where they'll hope to land 10s across the board during the special episode from the Tower Ballroom.

Strictly Come Dancing Blackpool Special returns on Saturday 18th November at 6.40pm, with the results show on Sunday 19th November at 7.20pm on BBC One.
