So it turns out the emerald isle is green for another reason, did you know Ireland is currently at number 3 in the world of countries who generate electricity with wind turbines.

On Wednesday last week they hit a new all time high, generating 73% of the entire country’s electricity. That’s the high, but even the average daily output churned out is over half the country’s electricity needs every day from clean and green wind power.

Four seasons in a day, as the Crowded House song goes, is a commonplace thing in Ireland, but you can usually count on wind sweeping across the Atlantic and across its beautiful shores and countryside. They’re producing so much, in fact, that they can afford to sell 10% of it to us! If you’re wondering who’s ahead of Ireland in this space, you might be surprised to know that Uruguay are at No.2 and China are at No.1

A new police officer has just been sworn in, for the town of Hopkinsville Kentucky which doesn’t seem like particularly good news until you see his gorgeous face and his paw print on the shiny new police ID.

Say hello to as it says officially on his genuine police identification, Paw-trol officer Bolo, a beautiful black and white pit bull, we’d call him a big staffie, who came from a local animal shelter to appear in some social media shots for the police department. He loved his day out and so did the officers, but when it came to going home time and he saw his cage, his head dropped and he stopped smiling and every policeman and woman in the station’s hearts simultaneously melted, so they decided then and there to adopt him and give him a fur-ever home. Bolo has now been officially sworn in by the mayor no less and all you have to do is look at his picture to see his gorgeous smiling face.
