Aquaman star Jason Momoa is swapping the sea for the sofa in the next CBeebies Bedtime Stories.

The Hollywood star will be donning his finest PJs to read the classic children’s story Tiddler by Julia Donaldson, which focuses on a tiny fish with a big imagination.

Speaking at the start of his wholesome story time, Jason says: “One of my favourite books that I read to my children as they were growing up was The Gruffalo, so I am very happy to read another amazing story by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler for a CBeebies Bedtime Story.”

Before kicking off the cosy story, he shares: “I’m here to read you a Bedtime Story from my underwater kingdom. The sea is full of stories. I could tell you many tales of my amazing adventures in the sea, but I’m not the only one.

“Every creature in the ocean, from the mightiest whale to the tiniest tiddler, has their own tale to tell. And this book is about a very little fish who has some very big stories of his own.”

Jason’s story will air on Friday 22nd December on CBeebies at 6:50pm and BBC iPlayer, but he’s not the only famous face sitting down for a cosy tale this week, with Tom Hardy making his Bedtime Story return.

The Peaky Blinders actor, who first appeared on CBeebies on New Year’s Eve 2016, will read Tisha and the Blossom by Wendy Meddou tonight (Monday 18th December) at 6:50pm.

“Tisha has taught me a great lesson, just slow down,” he says during his sweet segment. “The world can be a very, very busy place. Your mind can be full of sounds and pictures and just… busyness. So it is important to take your time to slow down and go at your own speed.”

On Tuesday (19th December), exercise legend Mr Motivator will read Into the Wild by Thomas Docherty, while internet star Talia Mar will read Princesses Break Free on Wednesday (20th December).

It’s all about music on Thursday (21st December) when Supergrass singer Gaz Coombes will return to Cbeebies for a reading of Ella May Does It Her Way.

“It was such a joy to read for the brilliant CBeebies Bedtime Stories again,” he says. “This time it’s Ella May Does It Her Way. It’s a funny, sweet little tale that I hope you all enjoy hearing as much as I did reading it.”

On Saturday (23 December), members of the UK Armed Forces will read The Invisible String from their bases in the UK and around the world.

For the festive weekend, Mr Tumble star Justin Fletcher will appear as Father Christmas on Christmas Eve with a new reading of The Night Before Christmas by Clement Clarke Moore.

On Christmas Day, Justin will be joined by Dodge The Dog to read The Hospital Dog by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Sara Ogilvie at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
