Celebrity Big Brother’s latest evicted housemate Lauren Simon has confessed she was “shocked” to learn of the recent controversy surrounding co-star Louis Walsh.

The Real Housewives of Cheshire star was booted from the show on Monday (12th March) after a rather rocky ride in the CBB house, which involved rule-breaking with Louis and a trip to the Celebrity Wheelie Bin.

However, the former X Factor judge has recently landed in hot water with many of the details he’s shared about his time in the music industry, and received backlash after calling twin musicians Jedward “vile” and discussing the lives of Simon Cowell and Sinitta.

Speaking to virginradio.co.uk and other press after her eviction, Lauren admitted Louis was “so fun” and “very dry” but she described his humour as “banter”, so was surprised to see harsh comments from Louis the day after she had left the house.

She explained: “I was quite shocked when I watched the eviction show. Remember, I've not seen the show. I watched one hour and it was the eviction show that pops up. So I watched that and I was so shocked with what he was saying about Jedward, calling them vile, I couldn't believe he was actually saying that.

“He wasn't like that with me. Honestly. He was really fun, a Ricky Gervais sense of humour. But not nasty.”

Lauren also shared how Louis became something of a “mentor” to her, reminding her that the show was “just a game” to ensure she didn’t take it all too seriously.

“He's been in this business for years,” she added. “ And he's been booed, people say nasty things about him in the X Factor. Louis Walsh is not interested. He has his own quiet life at home and he's very happy.

“He just did it for a bit of a laugh. He's come on there and he knows exactly what he's saying and what he's doing and he doesn't care.”

Louis did have a famous friend - Sharon Osbourne - in the house with him before she finished up her time as the first Celebrity Big Brother Lodger

The reality star revealed that despite her life of comparative luxury - Sharon gained everyone’s affection by “mucking in” around the house.

“Sharon Osbourne did not stop washing up and cleaning and tidying,” Lauren revealed with a tone of somewhat disbelief. “She joined in! When she was there, she mucked in, she made tea.”

While Lauren did stress Sharon was “a force to be reckoned with” who “says it how it is, and if you don’t like it, she doesn’t care,” the telly star obviously appreciated the older reality icon. “I adore her!” Lauren said.

Celebrity Big Brother continues on ITV1 and ITVX every evening (excluding Saturdays) from 9pm.
