Holly Willoughby announces 'action-packed' Netflix project alongside Bear Grylls - all the details

Holly Willoughby has made her first post-This Morning move to Netflix for a brand new game show. 

The streamer confirmed during their Next on Netflix event yesterday (14th March) that the Dancing on Ice host will front a new series, called Bear Hunt, with survivalist Bear Grylls, where a band of very brave celebrities will try and survive in the jungle while being hunted by Bear. 

The stars will be eliminated one-by-one as they try to traverse the Central American jungle to safety, all with the intrepid naturalist hot on their heels. 

Netflix shared during the announcement: “Holly Willoughby hosts this action-packed competition show that sees a group of unlikely British celebrities dropped into the Central American jungle as prey for one of the world's most fearsome predators – Bear Grylls!”

We’ll be waiting a little while though, as the streamer also confirmed the new format won’t be landing on screens until 2025.

Bear Hunt will be Holly’s first brand new show since departing This Morning in October 2023. 

She told her Instagram followers at the time: “I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning. 

“To everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years, thank you so so much. This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we’ve done together.”

Holly had been the face of This Morning since 2009, sharing the screen with co-host Phillip Schofield, who himself stepped down from the series in May and also left ITV entirely after admitting to an “unwise but not illegal” relationship with a younger male staffer.

The Celebrity Juice star did return to her hosting role of Dancing on Ice earlier this year alongside new co-star Stephen Mulhern, but Bear Hunt will see the star make her streaming debut. 

Other shows announced at the Next on Netflix event include The Choice, starring Surrane Jones, as well as series seven of Black Mirror. 

Bear Hunt will land on Netflix in 2025.
