Taskmaster series 17: When does it start? Who are the contestants? Everything you need to know

Another series of Taskmaster is on its way, with a whole new bunch of comedy stars hoping to impress Greg Davies. 

Whether you are a seasoned fan of Taskmaster, or have yet to experience the magnificence of the award-winning show, here’s all the information you need to know about the upcoming Series 17.

Who is in Taskmaster series 17?

As usual, there are five contestants in the series. 

This time round they are: 

Steve Pemberton, co-creator and co-star of Inside No. 9. He previously was a member of The League of Gentlemen.

Nick Mohammed, who played wunderkind Nate the Great in Ted Lasso. He is known for his character Mr. Swallow, which he has portrayed across both stage and television for over a decade.

Joanne McNally, who is an Irish stand-up comedian, writer, and actress.

Sophie Willan, multi award winning writer, actor and comedian, best known for her BBC Two series, Alma’s Not Normal.

John Robins, who is a stand-up comedian and radio presenter.

Once again, Taskmaster Greg will pass judgement on the tasks, scoring the players between one and five points as he sees fit, while Little Alex Horne is his willing assistant and overseer of the tasks as they are being completed.

When is Taskmaster series 17 on?

The new series starts at 9pm on Thursday 28th March.

It will then air each Thursday at 9pm after that for the duration of the series.

How many episodes of Taskmaster series 17 are there?

There will be ten episodes in the series, at the end of which Greg will crown the new Taskmaster champion, based on who is top of the overall leaderboard at the end of the final studio task. 

How can I watch Taskmaster series 17?

The new series will air on Channel 4, and can also be streamed on Channel 4.

Who won series 16 of Taskmaster?

Aussie comic Sam Campbell was series 16 champion. 

He beat Lucy Beaumont, Julian Clary, Sue Perkins, and Susan Wokoma to the prize.

Taskmaster airs Thursdays at 9pm on Channel 4 from 28th March.
