Love Island’s Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has opened up about her time in the Celebrity Big Brother house, having taken “some time off to reflect, recharge and restore.”

The reality star - who has also appeared on Dancing in Ice - was the fourth housemate to be evicted from the Celeb version of ITV’s rebooted Big Brother, and faced backlash from viewers during her time in the house. She subsequently did not reappear for the broadcast of the show’s final last month.

Having previously shared a statement on her Instagram Stories about her reasons for not attending the final, Ekin-Su has now shared a new message on social media, saying: “Thank you once more for all your kindness. Took some time off to reflect, recharge and restore which I'm still very much doing but I'll need to be back online for work purposes especially. Thanks to the brands who I work with who have respected my boundaries and shown compassion and love during the past year."

The Love Island 2022 winner continued: "Haven't felt myself for a long time, and I've realised I had kind of lost myself and for a while didn't know who I was beyond being defined by ex relationships or TV shows, and that needs to change! I am so excited for all the growth and full healing. CBB was the final lightbulb moment to make me realise what needs to be done.”

Ekin-Su concluded; “Embracing the fresh start to a new month and new era…. Wishing everyone an April full of possibilities. I am so grateful for each one of you ❤️”

The first series of Celebrity Big Brother since it was relaunched by ITV was won by David Potts. The 30-year-old reality TV star who shot to fame on ITV2's Ibiza Weekender beat Strictly's Nikita Kuzmin, who finished runner up, Coronation Street's Colson Smith (third) Former X Factor judge Louis Walsh (fourth), and presenter Fern Briton (fifth).

Celebrity Big Brother is available to stream on ITVX.
