Michael J. Fox reveals he’s open to acting again

Beloved actor, Michael J. Fox, hints at a potential return to the screen, sharing his openness to new opportunities.

Michael J. Fox, known for his iconic roles in classics like Back to the Future, may soon grace our screens again.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the acclaimed actor revealed that he's willing to consider acting once more, under the right circumstances.

Despite retiring from acting in 2020, Fox hasn't ruled out the possibility of a comeback.

He expressed his openness to the idea, stating: “If someone offers me a part and I do it and I have a good time, great.

"I would do acting if something came up that I could put my realities into it, my challenges, if I could figure it out.”

However, Fox clarified that returning to acting isn't necessarily a primary goal for him at the moment.

He emphasised the shifting nature of his priorities, highlighting his focus on family and his philanthropic endeavours through the Michael J. Fox Foundation.

Last year, Fox reflected on his decision to step away from acting, citing a poignant moment while watching Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

He recounted a scene featuring Leonardo DiCaprio's character grappling with memory loss, a moment that resonated deeply with Fox and prompted him to contemplate his own career trajectory.

He told Empire Magazine (via Business Insider) that: “There’s a scene where Leonardo DiCaprio’s character can’t remember his lines anymore. He goes back to his dressing room and he’s screaming at himself in the mirror. Just freaking insane. I had this moment where I was looking in the mirror and thought, ‘I cannot remember it anymore.’”

Despite facing the challenges of Parkinson's disease for decades, Fox maintains a resilient outlook on life.

When asked about his perspective on mortality, he shared a candid response, saying: “One day I’ll run out of gas... I’m 62 years old.

"Certainly, if I were to pass away tomorrow, it would be premature, but it wouldn’t be unheard of. And so, no, I don’t fear that.”

As fans eagerly await any updates on a potential return to acting from the beloved star, Fox's resilience and positive attitude continue to inspire audiences worldwide.
