Stephen Merchant takes to social media to finally unveil the release date for the anticipated premieres of The Outlaws Series 3.

The Outlaws gang returns with a bang.

Get ready to laugh, Bristol-style, because Stephen Merchant’s hilarious comedy-drama, The Outlaws, is gearing up for its triumphant return.

The gang of misfits is back for series three, and fans couldn’t be more excited.

The new series of the hit BBC series will once again follow a group of strangers from different walks of life, who were thrown together to complete a community payback sentence in Bristol.

Previously the show had already been confirmed for a third series on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in May, with some first-look pictures having been shared.

However, fans of the show were yet to have a solid release date, that was until series creator, writer, director and actor Stephen Merchant took to X (formerly Twitter) to drop this bombshell.

His post read: "Pass it on. #TheOutlaws series 3 is coming to @BBCiPlayer 30 May and @PrimeVideo 31 May."

Fans wasted no time in expressing their delight, with one enthusiast proclaiming: "Great show. Glad it’s coming back for S3."

Another couldn't contain their excitement, exclaiming: "I am genuinely counting the days."

The upcoming series promises a fresh dose of mayhem as the gang navigates the aftermath of crime boss The Dean's arrest.

With danger lurking around every corner and a murder manhunt hot on their heels, our beloved outlaws must band together to clear their names and evade The Dean's wrath.

Returning to the cast are familiar faces including Rhianne Barreto as Rani, Eleanor Tomlinson as Lady Gabby, and Gamba Cole as Ben. But that's not all—fan-favourite Christopher Walken reprises his role as the charming conman Frank, adding his signature flair to the mix.

Notably, Jessica Gunning, who's currently raising eyebrows in Baby Reindeer, not only returns as Diane but also boasts a co-writing credit for episode five of the new season.

Gunning shared her excitement about the collaboration, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to contribute behind the scenes.

She told Deadline: "I love working with Stephen, and he does let us add bits [of writing] here and there. I was lucky enough to be in the writers’ room for season three, and I learned so much behind the scenes. I was honoured to be a part of that."

With its unique blend of humour and heart, The Outlaws has captured audiences' imaginations since its debut in October 2021, overcoming production delays caused by the pandemic.

Series two followed in June 2022, cementing the show's status as a must-watch comedic gem.

So, get ready to laugh, cry, and root for the underdogs once more as The Outlaws gang gears up for another wild ride.

With Merchant at the helm and a stellar cast in tow, series three promises to deliver laughs aplenty and keep fans glued to their screens.

The Outlaws series one and two are already available to stream on BBC iPlayer, with series three due to hit BBC One on Thursday the 30th May.
