I Kissed A Girl stars Beth and Lailah are ready to spill the tea on episode five’s shocking twist eviction.

SPOILERS below for episode five of the BBC Three dating show!

Speaking exclusively with virginradio.co.uk, Lailah and Beth revealed exactly what the atmosphere was like behind the scenes of the Dannii Minogue-fronted show when well-established couple Priya and Naee were made to banish a couple of their choice from the Masseria.

The duo’s choice to banish struggling original pair Lisha and Abbie split the remaining contestants (and viewers at home) about whether it was the correct decision, or whether they should have sent home one of the newer couples.

Despite being part of one of those newer pairs, Lailah admitted she felt “the wrong couple went home” during that twisty show moment. “Every person in the Masseria was shocked when that happened,” she said. “And I think especially me and Beth, given our situation.”

Describing what the day after was like on the show, the footballer and student said: “There was just this tension and awkwardness. Like, you could genuinely cut it with a plastic knife - don’t even need anything sharp! It was that awkward.”

Beth agreed, adding: “We were all very shocked. Like Lailah said, I thought it was either going to be me and Fi, or Lailah and Amy that went because we were the two newest couples. So it was difficult because whilst I felt grateful that Priya and Naee decided to keep us in… I also felt bad that that meant a couple who had been in there from the start had to leave.”

“It didn’t really feel the same after they left,” Lailah added. “It just shows that you don’t see everything that happens in the Masseria. Because a lot of us weren’t even under the impression that there was anything rocky going on between Abs and Lish.”
