Madonna is once again working on her biopic, and an Ozark actor will take on the role.

The Queen of Pop has had a remarkable career, and the difficult part will be condensing it all down onscreen, but if anyone can do it, it's Madonna.

The plans for a film about the star's life have been in the works for quite some time, but Madonna put plans on hold last year following her health scare and busy music plans.

She decided to focus on the Celebration tour, but is now reviving the biopic project.

Madonna has teamed up with Universal Pictures and has plans to get the script finalised this summer.

Fans might recognise Julia Garner from her role in the hard-hitting Ozark series, and it seems she is already dedicated to the role.

It has been reported that Garner has been attending singing and dancing lessons in secret over the past year.

Following the success of Bohemian Rhapsody for Queen and Rocketman for Sir Elton John, Madonna hopes a film about her life will also appeal to music fans.

An insider told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: "Madonna has only just finished her tour but in her mind it is on to the next project and fulfilling her dream of getting the biopic made.

"Julia is still her lead actress and they have remained in touch for the past year, talking through ideas. They are committed to creating some magic."

They added: "Madonna feels that Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' and Elton John's 'Rocketman' biopics have paved the way for her.

"She wants to make this more unique and dramatic than those.

"A range of secret meets are being organised with Universal Pictures to get the project nailed down.

"There is a lot of work on with locking down the rest of the cast, arranging shoots and completing the script but the hope is that they can start filming in the next 12 months."

Madonna wants control over her story, so will produce and direct, saying: "I've had an extraordinary life, I must make an extraordinary film.

"It was also a pre-emptive strike because a lot of people were trying to make movies about me. Mostly misogynistic men.

"So I put my foot in the door and said, 'No one's going to tell my story, but me.'"
