Netflix shares a new list of codes to access 'secret' genres

Can't get enough of Netflix? If you spend hours scrolling, the streaming platform has released a new set of codes to make your life easier.

Sometimes having too much choice is a bad thing, as it can make it impossible to choose and you just end up watching Bridgerton again for the third time (guilty!)

There's nothing worse than when you finish a great show and you have no clue what to try next on Netflix.

Netflix has come to the rescue with a list of secret codes you can use to find exactly what you want to watch.

They've just shared a new list of codes to unlock secret genre collections, which should hopefully help you to narrow down your choices.

Tudum explains: "Your Netflix queue is always stacked with movies and shows to hit play on, but what you might not know is that there’s a hidden way to make that viewing experience even better."

There are some 36,000 secret codes - so needless to say we won't be listing them all here!

To access them, open up your web browser, type in 'netflix.com/browse/genre/' and then add your ID code of choice at the end.

Michael Raphan is a curation strategist at Netflix, and has shared that new codes are being added all the time.

"Why do you choose what to watch? It could be a lot of different things — it could be something about the picture is enticing, there’s an actor that you know, you’ve heard of it somewhere else. And I think one of those things is how it’s framed, what titles are sitting around it," Raphan tells Tudum. "So putting a new thing out there that can capture someone’s attention, that’s kind of cool."
