Wednesday star Emma Myers is set to take over TV screens with the upcoming BBC Three drama, A Good Girl's Guide to Murder. The first trailer has dropped and fans have reacted to the new murder mystery.

Based on Holly Jackson’s smash hit novels, the six-part series is lead by Wednesday actress Myers (Pip), who is joined by Anna Maxwell Martin (Motherland, A Spy Among Friends), Gary Beadle (Rye Lane, Small Axe), Mathew Baynton (Ghosts, Wonka) and newcomer Zain Iqbal.

The synopsis reads: "Five years ago, schoolgirl Andie Bell was murdered by her boyfriend Sal Singh. Case closed. The police know he did it, everyone in town knows he did it.

"But smart and single minded Pip Fitz-Amobi isn't so sure and she’s determined to prove it. If Sal Singh isn’t a murderer and the real killer is still out there, how far will they go to keep Pip from the truth?"

The new trailer shows Pip 'digging into the past and uncovering more secrets and lies', while being pulled further into the 'dark underside of Little Kilton'.

Fans reacted to the trailer: "That’s literally my favourite book series. I’ve never been more excited for a show."

"My life has been changed completely. I have watched this on repeat," claimed a second.

"Just finished the books and such a perfect timing to do it!!" praised a third.

The Wednesday star will also be back for season 2 of the Netflix hit and will be joined by Billie Piper, Steve Buscemi, Thandiwe Newton, Joanna Lumley and Haley Joel Osment.

Excitingly, The Addams Family's OG Uncle Fester - Christopher Lloyd - is set to appear in an as-yet-unknown cameo role.

The Tim Burton directed series has no official release date yet, so stay tuned for more.

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder airs on BBC iPlayer on Monday, July 1. The series will also air on BBC Three later that month.
