Fans react to Pharrell Williams telling life story in LEGO movie trailer Piece by Piece

A new LEGO animation trailer for Piece by Piece has dropped documenting Pharrell Williams' life story and viewers have called it 'the most novel idea ever seen for a theatrical film'.

The musician stars alongside Gwen Stefani, Kendrick Lamar, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Busta Rhymes, JAY-Z and Snoop Dogg in the 'unique cinematic experience' that uses the minifigures to tell the story of the musician’s life. 

Directed by Oscar-winner Morgan Neville and 'invites audiences on a vibrant journey through the life of cultural icon Pharrell Williams'.

The synopsis reads: "Told through the lens of LEGO animation, turn up the volume on your imagination and witness the evolution of one of music's most innovative minds."

Williams said in a statement previously: “When I had this crazy vision to tell this story through LEGO bricks, I couldn’t have imagined a better partner than [director] Morgan. He is a legend."

He added: "Building with LEGO bricks encourages us to follow our imagination… who would’ve thought that playing with these toys as a kid would evolve into a movie about my life. It’s proof that anyone else can do it too."

Fans commented: "This is something fresh and creative... a Lego Biopic? I'm sold."

Piece by Piece will be in cinemas from October 11th.
