Danny Dyer surprised fans at Robbie Williams’ show at BST Hyder Park with a performance of Blur’s Parklife.

The pair came together halfway through Williams’ set, telling fans: “It’s the double act you didn’t know you needed in your life.”

Of course, Dyer seamlessly slipped into the spoken word verses of the 1994 hit song, originally done by Phil Daniels, with Robbie singing Damon Albarn’s chorus.

It’s fair to say fans went wild and took to social media after the show to talk about the surprise performance.

One fan wrote on X: “Seeing Robbie Williams and Danny Dyer singing Parklife to 60,000 people wasn’t on my 2024 bingo card, but there we are.”

Another said: “Robbie Williams is some man. Most fun I’ve had in ages. Danny Dyer doing Parklife, just ridiculous.”

A third added: “Robbie Williams x Danny Dyer singing parklife was not something I expected to see tonight.”

Elsewhere in the show, Williams was also joined by Supergrass legend Gaz Coombes, and the pair performed a rendition of the Britpop’s 1995 hit, Alright.

Robbie introduced Coombes by reminiscing when they first met at Glastonbury in the 90s, adding that he had “a lovely soul and a lovely spirit” and describing him as “one of Britain’s best songwriters.

Remaining artists who are still set to perform as part of the series of BST Hyde Park shows include Shania Twain (July 7), Stevie Nicks (July 12), Kylie Minogue (July 13) and Stray Kids (July 14).

Robbie previously joined Andy Goldstein on Virgin Radio UK to talk about his 30th anniversary as a solo artist and why he won’t be celebrating the milestone. You can read that interview here
