Rod Stewart's wife Penny Lancaster shares emotional message as he cancels Las Vegas show

Penny Lancaster sent a heartfelt message to fans as her husband Rod Stewart cancels his milestone Las Vegas performance. 

The Maggie May singer was forced to axe his 200th residency celebration show just hours before his The Hits show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace due to a bout of the bacterial infection strep throat.

“Most people can work with strep throat, but obviously not me,” Stewart told fans. “I’m absolutely gutted. I’ve been looking forward to this concert for so long.”

Now, his wife Penny has taken to thank fans for their continued support. 

In a post, she said: Thank you to the 200k followers who have supported the moments I've shared with everyone. I hope that through my posts, I have been able to connect with you and provide joy and inspiration but above all the message that kindness and compassion is the true gift of nature."

Penny continued: "Something we should aspire to project amongst one another each day, even though from time to time we slip up, it's important to reconnect to that place." 

Fans took to the comments to share their admiration of Penny and Rod, with one fan saying: “One beautiful and humble lady. You’re the best, and Rod and the clan are very lucky to have you.”

Another added: “Thank you for sharing and touching our hearts.”

While a third said: “Lovely words- strength and beauty."

 Stewart has been performing at his residency in Las Vegas for 13 years but has recently revealed he will be staying on for a string of shows in 2025.
