Edwards disappeared on February 1st 1995, and had battled with depression.
Speaking on ITV's ‘Lorraine’, his sister Rachel appealed for information.
She said “On the 22nd December my brother would have been 50 years old, so another milestone birthday gone,”
On the day of Edwards' disappearance, his car was found near the Severn Bridge, and it is believed Edwards took his own life.
Asked about what happened the day he went missing, Rachel said: ‘He checked out of the Embassy hotel so he didn’t make the flight to New York when he was supposed to go there with another band member, we didn’t know any more and then a few weeks later his car was found. That’s the last factual aspect that we had.’
Talking about her work with the Missing People's Choir, Rachel said ‘It’s been great because it’s another opportunity to get together with other family members. Who better than to shape the message than the families left behind?'
