For the first time in 1986, it looks like the sale of vinyl records is about to overtake CD sales.

This is according to a report by the Recording Industry Association of Ameria, which showed that only 9% of revenue in the US Music Industry comes from the sales of physical music copies.

So it's not as if Vinyl will be taking over streaming anytime soon, which is found to currently generate 80% of US Music Industry revenue. But Digital Music News have found that the figures of Vinyl sales have not suddenly spiked, and instead have been gradually increasing over the last 10 years.

Whilst digital streaming continues to hold the reins of US music revenue, CD sales are said to be decreasing 3 times faster than vinyl record sales are increasing.
