Game Of Thrones feels like a lifetime ago, doesn't it? They're making plenty of plans for the prequel series, House of the Dragon.

Matt Smith is the latest big name to join the cast, and The Crown and Dr Who star is excited to say the least

Matt was asked about his new role and what he was most looking forward to during a live-streamed Q&A for GalaxyCon Live on Saturday.

He exclaimed: "Well, God, everything. I think it’ll be a really exciting cast. I think it’s a wonderful legacy to be a part of and a wonderful world. It’s a great part."

He's been cast to play Prince Daemon Targaryen in the show.

He added: "And without saying too much, I’m just looking forward to riding a few dragons. If I get to, I mean I don’t know, who knows. Who knows what sort of goes on in this world."

Production on the prequel will begin next year. It's been confirmed that the show is set 300 years before the events of Game Of Thrones.
