There are few more reassuring and trustworthy voices in the world than that of actor Morgan Freeman. So it makes sense that he has appeared in a public service announcement video, encouraging people to get vaccinated against Covid-19.

Whilst many people have been keenly receiving their jabs, the 83-year-old legend has joined forces with the National Blue Ribbon Task Force and The Creative Coalition to create a message aimed at those who may be feeling hesitant about receiving the vaccine.

"I’m not a doctor,” the beloved actor says in the short clip. “But I trust science. And I’m told that, for some reason, people trust me.”

In his characteristic gentle manner, he continues: “I trust science and I got the vaccine. If you trust me, you’ll get the vaccine… Help make our world a safe place for us to enjoy ourselves again. Please.”

Over 100 million people in Freeman's homeland of the United States have already received their first vaccines, and it was recently announced that over 5 million people in the UK have now had both their first and second jabs.

It’s hoped that Morgan Freeman’s dulcet tones will encourage even more people to get their shots.
