Adam Sandler returns to pancake chain IHOP to surprise employee who turned him away

Imagine not recognising Adam Sandler and then turning him away from your place of work because it's too busy - then later realising you've just pied/pancaked an A-lister in the face. That's exactly what happened to US waitress Dayanna Rodas at the famous pancake house chain IHOP. The mortified woman posted a clip saying she had asked Sandler to wait half an hour before being seated - because she hadn't realised it was him.

She initially wrote: “Not realising it’s Adam Sandler and telling him it’s a 30 min wait and him of course leaving because he’s not going to wait 30 mins for IHOP."

She captioned the video: “Pleaseee come back.”

In another TikTok post, the waitress revealed that the actor had since returned to her work for IHOP’s Milkshake Monday, which raises money for Comedy Gives Back.

The lucky waitress posed for photos with the Happy Gilmore star and shared them on TikTok alongside the music Best Day of My Life by American Authors.

She wrote: “Couldn’t have been more excited!! Thank you Adam Sandler!”

Good guy Sandler shared a similar post on social media along with his dog and captioned it: “Thank u IHOP for Milkshake Monday.”

The actor also cleared up that he wasn't being a diva by not waiting for a table. He wrote: “For the record, I only left the IHOP because the nice woman told me the all-you-can-eat deal didn’t apply to the milkshakes.”
