There are two types of people in this world. There are those that watch The Great British Bake Off and think, “I could do that,” and there are those who watch it and think, “I absolutely could not do that.” If you fall into the latter category, then we might just have found the perfect recipe for you.

If you like the idea of making a cake but are put off by the amount of ingredients, time, care and attention it takes, then Jonny Massaad, founder of Australian dessert company Cake Mail, has come up with a recipe that takes just over a minute and involves a mug, a spoon, a microwave, and three ingredients. Now that’s the kind of recipe that we can get on board with!

Jonny’s recipe is for a peanut butter mug cake for one, and for it you will need peanut butter, an egg, and some brown sugar.

In a video on his cakemail Instagram page, Jonny reveals how simple the process is. All you have to do is put three tablespoons of peanut butter into a mug, then mix in an egg and a tablespoon of brown sugar. Then stir it until the mixture is soft and combined.

After that, just whack it in the microwave for one minute and, hey presto, you’ve made yourself a peanut butter mug cake!

As Jonny says, “This easy recipe will have you drooling for dayssss!!”

The video has viewed thousands of times across Instagram and TikTok, with commenters vowing to give it a go.

Elsewhere, Jonny also teaches his social media followers how to make a four-ingredient M&M's cookie in just one minute using a microwave.

He also makes a McFlurry mug cake, two-ingredient Nutella ice-cream, three-ingredient doughnut balls, and loads more ridiculously delicious snacks.

We’ll have one of each please!
