We’ve seen a lot of crazes so far in TikTok’s relatively short existence, haven’t we? We’ve watched people coming up with new dances, singing sea shanties, offering life-hacks, and sharing hideous food creations. What we hadn’t seen, until now, was nuns giving skincare tips, but we’ve got to tell you, we are totally here for it!

Sister Claudette Powell, who goes by the TikTok name nunsenseforthepeople on the social media platform, posted a video after people who had seen her youthful looks in previous clips had asked her to “drop the skincare routine.”

In the video, the 55-year-old says, “A bunch of really nice ladies have left comments on here saying that they think I look a lot younger than I am, and I just want to say thank you. That’s really nice."

While looking a little bemused and admitting that she “doesn’t really have” a skincare routine as such, she does offer three very simple pieces of advice.

“I think I probably have a few less wrinkles than some people my age because I don’t go out in the sun,” she explains. “If I go out in the sun, I have to have a sunshade or an umbrella or something.”

The TikToker, who in her bio says “I’m an Episcopal nun but before I entered the convent, I worked in Hollywood”, goes on to explain that “low lighting is a girl’s best friend,” and says that she shoots her videos “in really good lighting and low lighting.”

Regarding products that she uses, she says, “As far as what I use on my skin, I’ve never used beauty products because I think it’s a rip-off and because I’m really cheap.

“My skin is allergic to just about everything on earth, so I wash my face once a day and I have to use things like that Aveeno oatmeal body wash/shampoo that you get in the baby department.”

Towards the end of the video, the nun helpfully recaps all of her tips. “So, there you go," she says. "Carry a parasol, shoot in low-light, and use baby stuff on your skin.”

Commenters are loving the helpful tips, and are surprised that she really is in her mid-50s. One user said. “I thought you were FOR SURE mid 30s.”

Another said, “My kind of skincare routine.”

Someone else jokingly said, “It’s because she doesn’t constantly deal with men’s audacity!”

Another TikToker added something similar, “It’s called no husband, no kids.”

Elsewhere, somebody said, “I don’t know how I made it to nun skincare TikTok but I’m delighted and you’re delightful.”
