With the Omicron variant threatening to scupper our Christmas plans, we needed this now more than ever.
The singer took to Twitter yesterday to ask her followers via a poll whether they needed an “emergency” kitchen disco, stating: “We feel like we could do with it if you’re up for it.”
Well, the poll results were an overwhelming ‘yes’.
So, it looks like we’re getting some more Kitchen Disco goodness tonight from 6:30pm!
Announcing her plan on Twitter to host a livestream, Sophie said: “The vote has just finished and thousands have voted. Landslide yes.
“Tonight 6.30pm live on my insta: we can be your office party, friend get-together, Christmas whatever.. oh my, dusting off the microphone..you later my little sugarplums.”
If there were ever time we needed to see Sophie dancing around her kitchen, it’s now.
Her Kitchen Disco series became a huge sensation during the first lockdown and was an antidote to the doom and gloom happening in the world.
Thousands of people tuned into her livestream every week to lift their spirits and dance in their own kitchens around the UK.
In May last year, the singer also hosted several Kitchen Disco shows on Radio 2 and BBC Sounds and even released an album, Songs from the Kitchen Disco, featuring some of her most loved covers.
She also did a Kitchen Disco Danceathon for Children in Need, raising over £1 million for charity.
If you need a bit of a pick me up, tune into Sophie's Instagram live at 6:30pm tonight.
