The legendary musician filmed an episode of the show a few months before he died.

You know Meat Loaf as the incredible vocalist who belted out the likes of Bat Out of Hell and I Would Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That), but what you might not know is that he was also an enthusiastic paranormal investigator!

The singer and actor appeared on US show Ghost Hunters on a number of occasions, starting in 2009, and it has been revealed that he filmed an as-yet-unseen episode in September.

Meat Loaf joined the team for a visit to an old farmhouse in Tennessee. The Haunted House On The Hill will air on Discovery+ on February 12th.

In a trailer, the show’s star and co-producer Jason Hawes said: “A lot of people don’t realise with Meat Loaf, that he’s been investigating claims of the paranormal for a long time. That’s actually what sparked our friendship and we’ve been hanging out ever since.”

Meat Loaf added: “I am so incredibly honoured and thankful to Jason and the team for inviting me out again.”

Meanwhile, another of the show’s stars and producers, Steve Gonsalves said on Twitter: “So happy we got to investigate together again just a few short months ago! Truly one of the biggest sweethearts with the best stories!! We love you Meat!”

Meat Loaf died on January 21st at the age of 74. His passing led to tributes pouring in from musicians and fans around the world. Queen guitarist Brian May wrote on Instagram: “Completely gutted that Meat Loaf has left us. Always full of madness, with the innocent sense of naughtiness of a 5-year old, Meat was forever young.”

Cher wrote on Twitter: “Had So Much Fun With Meatloaf When We Did 'Dead Ringer. Am Very Sorry For His Family, Friends, & Fans. Am I imagining It, or Are Amazing Ppl In The Arts Dying every other Day?”

Last week, The Queen’s Guard paid tribute to him with a special brass version of I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That) at Buckingham Palace.
