Channel 4 series Gogglebox has introduced their first Scottish telly watchers ahead of the new series.

After their mission to introduce a Scottish family to the show, new couple Joe and Roisin have been added to the line-up.

Joe and Roisin have been together for four years and live at Joe’s family home in Glasgow, having moved in together at the beginning of lockdown.

According to Channel 4, Roisin loves shopping, getting dressed up and socialising with friends. Joe loves playing video games, pizza making and spending time with Roisin.

Roisin and Joe can be seen for the first time on tonight’s Gogglebox at 9pm on Channel 4 where Britain’s sharpest armchair critics have been watching Love Is Blind, Bradley & Barney Walsh: Breaking Dad, Teen First Dates, Sunday Morning and BBC News, just to name a few!

After the announcement was made public on the official Gogglebox Twitter account, fans were quick to share their excitement about the news.

One fan commented: “I was just saying to the Mrs last night while she was watching a recorded episode that there was no Scots. Well done.”

Another said: “It’s only taken how many seasons to get Scottish people on”, while a third wrote: “Yay. Welcome to the gang. Is it 9pm yet.”

Joe and Roisin are the first Scottish couple - based in Scotland - to be featured on the show, and TV bosses have been keen to introduce one to the varied mix.

They even set aside money in their budget, as mentioned by Channel 4 chief executive Alex Mahon, who was asked by the Scottish Affairs Committee if they could find someone from the region to take part.

Series 19 of Gogglebox begins tonight (Friday 25th February) on Channel 4 at 9pm.
