Stephanie Beatriz provided the voice for Mirabel in Disney's 'Encanto', and she recorded one of the songs while in labour!
The soundtrack of the film has generated plenty of smash hits, including the UK Number 1 single in 'We Don't Talk About Bruno'.
There's an even more remarkable story behind one of the other songs from the film, as it turns out that Beatriz was having contractions while recording.
It was during the beautiful ballad 'Waiting On a Miracle', and Beatriz was heavily pregnant with her first child.
Stephanie previously made her name starring as Rosa in 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine'.
She told Variety about recording the song: "I didn’t want to tell anybody at Disney because I didn’t want anyone to freak out.
"But I was already having some contractions when we were scheduled to record that day. I was like ‘Well, fingers crossed I finish the song before [the baby] comes!"
Her daughter, Rosaline Hoss, arrived the day after the recording session took place in August 2021.
One of the directors, Bryan Howard said he knew Beatriz was “very, very, very, very, very” ready to give birth but didn't know about the contractions.
The song is an emotional one, where Mirabel talks about feeling less than her relatives: "I can't move the mountains, I can't make the flowers bloom, I can't take another night up in my room, waiting on a miracle," she sings.
The film recently landed an Oscar nomination, and after a slow start at the cinema has become a favourite since arriving on Disney Plus.
