Chris Evans has taken to Twitter to address the hilarious accusations from fans that recent photos of him at Disneyland were photoshopped.

The snaps were taken on 12 June with Evans posing with iconic characters including Mickey and Minnie Mouse at the California theme park and posted on Pixar’s official Twitter page to celebrate the release of the new Lightyear film.

However, some fans thought the images looked a bit suspicious and started to believe Evans had been photoshopped in.

One fan wrote: “Pixar please don’t lie to me, is he Photoshopped in?”

Some even took to photoshopping the image of Evans into different backgrounds themselves and posting them in the comments.

The actor soon took to his own social media page to assure fans he was there in person and tweeted: “I promise I’m not photoshopped into these! I just have a very disciplined pose. (And I don’t know what to do with my hands).”

This comes as the star kicks off the promotional tour for his new film Lightyear, a prequel to the Toy Story films, that looks at Buzz’s (voices by Evans) life before he ended up in Andy’s room with Woody and the gang.

The film is set to premiere in cinemas on 17 June and the official synopsis states it is a “sci-fi action-adventure” movie that will outline “the definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear- the hero who inspired the toy.”

Earlier this year, the actor addressed getting the role in a statement published by Disney, and said: “The phrase ‘a dream come true’ gets thrown around a lot, but I’ve never meant it more in my life.

"Anyone who knows me knows that my love for animated films runs deep. I can’t believe that I get to be a part of the Pixar family and work with these truly brilliant artists who tell stories unlike anyone else.”

Lightyear premieres in cinemas on 17 June.
