Mel B teases Spice Girls documentary from creators of The Last Dance

If you enjoyed the Michael Jordan Netflix documentary series, The Last Dance, and you are a fan of the Spice Girls, then you'll be very interested in what Mel B had to say this week.

Whilst you might think that there doesn’t seem to be much of a correlation between a Chicago Bulls basketball legend and one of the all-time biggest UK girl groups, it turns out that the acclaimed director Jason Hehir might just be the link between the two. 

Hehir helmed Netflix's Emmy-winning Michael Jordan documentary The Last Dance, and now it seems that the director might be set to make a docco about the Spice Girls as well.

Scary Spice spoke about how a potential Spice Girls documentary is in the works when appearing on Australian TV show The Project yesterday (July 25th).

Talking about how one of her Masked Singer Australia co-panellists, Dave Hughes, had spilled the beans about the documentary, she said: “I told Dave, when the cameras were off, that we've signed our documentary to the guys that did The Last Dance, and he went and told the whole audience!”

She added: “I think I did say, 'We've only just signed it, it hasn't been announced yet,' and then he told everyone!”

On The Last Dance director Hehir, Mel enthused: “The director and the whole concept of how that was shot and filmed was really, really, really, really good. So, we'll be doing our own version with them.”

Along with news of a potential documentary, there is plenty else to be excited about from the Spice Girls universe. 

Sporty Spice Mel C recently said that she and Scary have been “manifesting” the day that the Spice Girls can get back together as a five-piece, with Posh Spice Victoria Beckham included. Victoria recently performed Stop during a holiday karaoke session.

And the official Spice Girls’ Twitter account has teased that there might be something happening relating to the upcoming 25th anniversary of their album Spiceworld, and film, Spice World.

Mel C also told OK Magazine: “You’ll need to stay tuned to hear more. There will be big celebrations in the coming months, I can tell you that.”
