Why can't Brooklyn Beckham make his mind up over which accent to use?

The son of David and Victoria was raised between London, Madrid and Los Angeles.

A strange red carpet interview with 23 year old Brooklyn Beckham has emerged - which has got us thinking about that clip of former One Direction star Liam Payne, after the Oscars back in March - which went viral due to Wolverhampton-born Liam's 'Irish-American' twang.

The conversation with Brooklyn was principally about what he enjoys cooking for wife Nicola Peltz, 27 - angel hair pasta with pink sauce, apparently - but veered between American and Cockney accents.

Other interviews it reminded us of might be more familiar to 115 England cap dad, David, with odd interviews with former footballer Joey Barton and former manager Steve McClaren springing to mind.

Brooklyn and Transformers actress Nicola were married this past April, in Palm Beach, Florida in a Jewish ceremony.

It's perhaps no surprise that Brooklyn has such a confused accent.

He grew up in 'Beckingham Palace' in Hertfordshire, which he and his parents moved into shortly after Posh and Becks' wedding in July 1999.

Then in 2003 David Beckham left Manchester United and signed for Real Madrid on a four-year contract. The couple and their then-two young sons Brooklyn, four, and Romeo, one, moved to Spain.

2007 saw Brooklyn turn eight, while the same year saw the Beckham family moved to Los Angeles when David signed for LA Galaxy. Later Goldenballs had brief stints at AC Milan in Italy and Paris St Germain in France, but Victoria and the kids remained in LA.

In 2013, the Beckhams moved back to London after David retired from professional football but continue to jet between the US and UK.

Brooklyn briefly moved to New York City to attend Parson's School of Design in 2018. Then in 2020, he relocated to the US to live with Nicola in Los Angeles.

Is it just us that's a little bit disappointed that the Beckhams never relocated to Newcastle for a bit?
