Strictly’s It Takes Two host Janette Manrara and husband Aljaž Škorjanec are leaving it up to fate when it comes to expanding their family.

The talented dancers have been married since 2017, and spent years as colleagues on the Strictly Come Dancing dance floor.

Speaking to Prima Magazine (out today, 3rd November), Janette and Aljaž shared what their family plans are now they’re away from the Strictly ballroom, and they’re “leaving it up to the universe.”

They explained: “We want to be parents and can’t wait for the day that comes, but we’re not putting pressure on how, when and in what capacity that will be.”

While chatting about how they met, it turns out for Aljaž, it was love at first sight, but for Janette, she was busy focused on her career, and not interested in falling in love.

She explained: “We met in 2010, I’d just moved to London to do the dance show Burn The Floor and I was rehearsing when Aljaž came in, looking like Prince Charming.

‘Everyone just froze in awe… except for me. I was so focused on travelling the world and living my best life, I wasn’t looking for a boyfriend.”

It seems Aljaž's patience was worth it, as Janette finally gave him a chance, and now they’re one of dancing’s biggest power couples.

Meanwhile, Aljaž recently revealed he was “not ready” to be in the audience of Strictly Come Dancing 2022 following his departure from the series in March.

Speaking with OK! Magazine, Aljaž explained he’s struggling to return to the Strictly Ballroom, explaining: "I don’t think I’m ready, I can’t do that yet. I’ve watched some of the dances back on telly because I love my fellow co-workers.”

Janette left the series a year prior to Aljaž making his decision, and has since taken up a new role as host of It Takes Two with Rylan Clark.

When it comes to why he finally decided to leave, Aljaž added: “It was different doing it without Janette. My job was very different. Strictly is the most incredible opportunity but sometimes I needed that shoulder right next to me for a hug. It felt really different.”

He continued: “I made the decision a while ago but I never knew when was the right time to do it. Everyone advised me not to leave but life is too short and you have to go after things.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday on BBC One at 7pm.
