The loved ones of late TV presenter Caroline Flack have announced that Flackstock will be back for 2023.
The intimate day festival, which celebrates Caroline’s life with comedy, dance and musical acts, ran for the very first time last year and featured performances from Ronan Keating, Tom Grennan, Olly Murs and Natalie Imbruglia.
The 2023 event was attended by thousands of people and raised £325,000 for charity. The money was split between Choose Love, Mind, Samaritans and Charlie Waller Trust, which all held a special place in Caroline’s heart.
Those same charities will receive money from Flackstock 2023, with the line-up due to be revealed soon. Tickets will be available to by on Thursday (15th December) at 10am.
Flackstock will take place at Englefield House following on from the summer concerts as part of Heritage Live on the site, and is organised by Caroline’s mother Christine and sister Jody, as well as her close friends Natalie Pinkham, Dawn O’Porter, Anna Blue, Sarah Tyekiff, and Leigh and Jill Francis.
The committee of friends and family said in a statement: “Flackstock was an incredible way to remember our friend Caroline, but it became so much more than that - a place full of joy where people felt comfortable talking about mental health.
“There has been an overwhelming desire for us to return, so we are back with the intention of building Flackstock into a legacy festival to raise money and awareness for a range of brilliant charities. We want everyone to come and join us in 2023 for this magical event.”
TV presenter Caroline presented shows such as Love Island, The X Factor and TMI during her career. She passed away February 2020, aged 40.
Telly host Natalie and Caroline originally met whilst working on European Poker Tour in 2005, while author Dawn met Caroline on the set of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! in 2009.
Speaking ahead of the 2022 festival in July on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with Sky, Natalie explained: “We wanted to do something to celebrate Caroline Flack’s life. We felt as if we hadn’t really had the chance to give her a proper send-off because of Covid. And, actually, it’s pretty difficult to grieve alone, you kind of need to be together with your friends.
“We weren’t able to do that, as was the case for so many people through Covid, and so we thought a great way of doing just that would be to do the thing that Caroline loved most, which was to dance, to sing, and to laugh, So we’re bringing together, dance, comedy and music, at Flackstock.”
Tickets for Flackstock 2023 will be available from AXS.com on Thursday 15th December at 10am.
