Piers Morgan has said sorry to Ed Sheeran for the verbal abuse the singer received from Morgan's hacked Twitter account on Boxing Day calling him a 'ginger p****'.
The Talk TV presenter’s social media page posted a number of insulting tweets to celebrities during the hack on his account on December 26 including 'false information, racial slurs and abusive messages directed at the late Queen'.
Returning to Twitter after a break, the star apologised for any harm done and posted a picture of the singing superstar. He told his 8.3 million followers: “By the way, apologies for all the abusive nonsense posted on my feed after I was hacked (yes, yes, do your own jokes) on Boxing Day.”
He continued: “And in particular to @edsheeran who I think is a very gifted singer-songwriter with a fine head of hair, not a ‘ginger p****.’’
The presenter, who fronts TalkTV as the host of its Uncensored show said previously that there is a 'big problem with how big tech operates its safety procedures'.
Piers previously told our Chris about returning to TV with his global show Uncensored. He said: “I’m in the opinion business. Everything I do is driven, really, by my opinions, and I think that comes from being a journalist…
"As a tabloid editor for many years, you’ve got to work out what you feel strongly about each day, and express it in a lively and vivid way on the front pages.”
Catch Piers on TalkTV, available in the UK on Sky (522), Virgin Media (606), Freeview (237), Freesat (217) and Sky Glass (508).
