Nearly four decades after the first Back to the Future film was released, its stars have got together to pose for adorable photos at a fan convention.

The first of the time-travelling science fiction trilogy landed in 1985 and was a massive hit, with its cast including Michael J. Fox as lead character Marty McFly, Christopher Lloyd as Doc Brown, Tom Wilson as Biff and Lea Thompson as Lorraine.

Now, the latter has shared a pic of the four actors on Instagram, along with other photos and videos from the fan event, which took place in Portland, Oregon, on Saturday (18th February).

Captioning the post, she wrote: “Thompson captioned her post, 'Wow, honestly had the best time today with my #bttf family.”

Michael J. Fox also shared one of the photos on his Instagram Stories, writing: “I love being at these FanExpo events and seeing some of my favourite people like Lea, Tom, Chris and all you #bttf heads. Heavy.”

The actor, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991, recently spoke about his friendship with BTTF co-star Christopher Lloyd, saying: “It took me a few films to get to know him. On Back to the Future Part III, we connected in a way we hadn't on the other films. I came to see how much he loved acting. I never got that before. To sit down and talk about acting and talk about Shakespeare and King Lear… This guy can play King Lear! People don't expect that of him. He's full of surprises.”

In the Variety Studio interview, he added: “He can tell a movie's worth of story in two seconds, and you get it. Us regular actors have to lay out hours and hours to get the information out. Chris is brilliant at it. His love of film and his love of being an actor… He's not just a crazy guy, he's an artist.”
