Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence is set to ratchet up the raunchiness in an edgy new comedy called No Hard Feelings.
We’ve seen the star actor in a number of different roles in her illustrious career. For instance, she’s been a reluctant hero in The Hunger Games, a poverty-stricken teenager in Winter’s Bone, a spy in Red Sparrow and a mutant in X-Men. However, whilst she has appeared in comedy-dramas such as Don’t Look Up and the award-winning Silver Lining’s Playbook, No Hard Feelings represents the first time we’ll get to see her in a full-on R-rated comedy of this ilk.
The coming-of-age tale sees Lawrence play Maddie, an out-of-work Uber driver, who is facing financial ruin. She answers an ad from a couple who want someone to date their 19-year-old son Percy, in order to bring him out of his shell before he goes off to college. And by “date”, they mean… well…
“Date him... date him hard," Percy’s dad (played by magnificent-haired Matthew Broderick) tells her.
"I'll date his brains out," she responds.
The trailer suggests that the above exchange sets the tone for the movie, as Maddie does her best to fulfil her brief, but seducing Percy proves harder than she expects. When she takes a detour on a drive home he pepper sprays her because he thinks he’s being kidnapped. When she suggests skinny-dipping, the lad is worried about sharks, jellyfish and the cold.
It seems though, that the comedy might take a heartwarming turn, as the trailer shows Maddie tell her pals: “He’s actually really sweet,” and we see then Percy stand up for her, although with somewhat disastrous results.

The cast includes The Bear's Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Natalie Morales from Netflix series Dead to Me.
The film is directed by Gene Stupnitsky (Good Boys), and written by Stupnitsky and Bad Teacher's John Phillips.
There has not been no announcement of the exact date of release, but No Hard Feelings is set to land in cinemas this summer.
