Love pigs in blankets? Toby Carvey launches foot-long version

Every Christmas it's a fight around the table for the pigs in blankets.

The essential festive treat is always first to go, but Toby Carvery has come up with a version that means there's more than enough to go around.

Forget your average miniature sausage wrapped in bacon, for the carvery decided bigger is better with a foot long beast.

They've called it the ‘Festive Footlong Super Pig’, and this is one for the carnivores (sorry veggies and vegans).

Toby Carvery says they sell more than a whopping 750,000 pigs in blankets every year.

They've been teasing fans on Twitter but now the news is out.

They had the brainwave to create a supersize one to keep everybody happy.

It clocks in at just over 30cm long - this is a lot of sausage - so it's like an extra-large hot dog with added bacon.

You can have it as a meal served in a warm ciabatta roll, complete with turkey stuffing and cranberry sauce, plus the must-have roast potatoes on the side for £7.49.

If you don't fancy a sandwich and want a normal carvery, you can add the foot-long creation to any dish on the main food menu with cranberry or BBQ sauce, for £5.49

Martin Gosling, operations director at Toby Carvery, said: ‘As the home of the roast, we know that Toby Carvery is the go to place for diners during the festive season, which is why we wanted to add something special to the festive menu for guests to enjoy.

‘With pigs in blankets being a firm favourite, it felt only right to go the extra mile to create the ultimate Festive Super Pig.’

If you can't face the super-sized sausage, regular-sized pigs in blankets will still be available.

You have to be quick though, as it hits branches in a week on November 17 and will only be sold until December 31.

It will be available nationwide too.
