Footballing superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez are expecting two new arrivals next year, and they have announced their gender via a cute Instagram post.

In the sweet video clip, the Portuguese footballer’s four children can be seen holding balloons, keenly ready to burst them with pins as Georgina, who is holding the camera, counts to three.

The kids gleefully pop the balloons, and in doing so send blue confetti… and pink confetti... into the air, meaning that the twins will be a boy and a girl!

Cristiano’s Instagram post was captioned: “Where life begins and love never ends” followed by six love hearts and the hashtag #blessed.

The post went down well with the Manchester United star’s 377 million followers (yes, you read that right… 377 million!).

His teammate Marcus Rashford wrote: "Congratulations brother," while the official Manchester United account also offered its congratulations.

The footballing legend and his long-time partner had previously taken to Instagram to let their fans know that they were expecting. The photo showed them holding a baby scan and was captioned: “Delighted to announce we are expecting twins. Our hearts are full of love - we can’t wait to meet you.”

Ahead of the arrival of the twins, Ronaldo currently shares daughter Alana, with Georgina and also has son Cristiano Jnr, and twins Eva and Mateo, via unknown surrogates. The Manchester United player met in 2016 at the Gucci store where she worked as a sales assistant.

The footballer will have a bit more time to spend with his family than expected this weekend, as Manchester United’s match has been postponed due to the upsurge in Covid cases. Half of the weekend's Premier League fixtures have now been called off.
