La Gatoria in Medellin, Columbia, is a must-visit destination for any cat lover.

In the café, cats wander freely between tables as customers snack on the tasty treats on offer. Visitors are also encouraged to play with the felines that show interest with the potential of taking them home.

All the cats at La Gatoria are either sick or in need of a new family, and the hopes are that customers will form a bond with the animal and provide them with a forever home.

The idea came from Liliana Zuluaga, who started up the café several years ago after volunteering to help cats suffering from leukemia.

Since being able to finance the project five years ago, Zuluaga opened the café.

There will always be 10 cats at La Gatoria in need of a new home, but some have already been adopted and just enjoy spending time at the Café.

One cat that has been recently rehomed is Amelia (in the video below), who the café nicknamed ‘The Desired Daughter'.

She caught the eye of Karen, who visited the café in search of a new companion. It took some patience, but eventually, she earned Amelia’s trust and has since taken her home to be with her two other cats.

Two other gorgeous kitties, Ophelia and Shakespeare, were also adopted this week by a new family who fell in love with them after visiting the café.

Unless you have a trip to Columbia planned, you probably won’t get to enjoy the café for yourself, so here are some adorable photos from La Gatoria to fill that kitty-shaped hole in your heart.

Warning: They are unbelievably cute.
