Hate the heat? An air conditioner has gone viral and fans swear by it

If the record temperatures had you wishing for air conditioning, this popular TikTok item might be just the ticket.

A portable air cooler has gone viral on the video-sharing platform, as TikTok posters have shared videos explaining it has kept their rooms freezing cold.

An account posting under the name Right Guy Reviews (@rightguyreviews) shared a review of the "TikTok air conditioning unit".

He claims is fills the room with "freezing air" by adding water alongside ice cubes.

"This is a life saver for summer," said one viewer.

Another posted a video called 'Things I bought off Amazon because of TikTok'.

However, not everyone is pleased with the devices.

One commenter said: "I have it, doesn't work! It's not all that."

The creator of the video who bought the unit said it 'sucks so bad'.

Haily Freeman (@hailz.freem) bought and reviewed cooler called the Arctic Air portable air cooler.

She said she bought it from Walmart for $40 (£33).

Unlike the other devices, she said the invention was "amazing" and well worth the money.

Many of the devices aren't true air conditioning units, but instead are humidifiers.

Other popular devices including ones that wrap around your neck.
