There's nothing fiddlier than trying to apply fake tan to your own back.

A TikTok hack has gone viral for showing fans how to reach even the middle part of your back.

Don't contort yourself in weird and wonderful positions trying to get it done, and try this out at home.

Sophie Anne Smith shared the tip, as she lives alone, and used a coat hanger to reach difficult spots.

The TikTok user showed the hanger with a usual tanning mitt, and then held the other corner rather than wearing the mitt on her hand. Watch the video here.

She applied tanning mousse as normal, and then used both hands to smooth the product over the rest of her back.

And voila! Sophie then showed off an even, sun-kissed result.

‘That one time I listened to a TT life hack,’ Sophie captioned the video, adding: ‘Perks of living solo dolo.’

One commenter wrote: "Thank you for this."

"Damn I’ve been going pretzel mode to get the back," laughed one commenter.

"I’ve been doing this for five years and no one believes it works!" said another.

One of the keys for successful application is using a coathanger that’s made of a non-slip material rather than metal or wood.

A velour or silicone hanger works well to keep the mitt in place.

You no longer have to ask a friend to help out with the application.

Have you tried this?
