He joins the likes of Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks on the country icon's 'Rock Star' album.
As we've talked about endlessly on this website, Dolly Parton is making a 'rock album' called Rock Star, and she's got some big names lined up to join her - including Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx.
Sixx, 64, spilled the beans on Twitter, saying he "played bass on a song for Dolly Parton yesterday." Fans are stoked to see what kind of magic they created together.
But that's not all - the album will also have covers of songs from some of the biggest bands in rock history, including Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Prince, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Journey. Plus, it's not just Sixx who's joining in on the fun - other legends like Sir Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks, John Fogerty, and Steven Tyler will be contributing to the album too.
But wait, there's even more!
Parton wants to bring together former Led Zeppelin members Robert Plant and Jimmy Page for her version of 'Stairway to Heaven'. She's working (9 to 5) on making it happen, saying, "I'm trying to see if Robert Plant might sing on it. Maybe Jimmy Page might do the pick-up part on it."
She continued, “I’m looking forward to dragging in some of the great classic people, girls and boys, to sing on some of the songs. I’m not far enough along to discuss who and what, but I am going to do an album.”
We're really freaking out at the possibility of a Led Zeppelin reunion, courtesy of Dolly, but for now we'll have to wait and see.
