Madonna has never been shy, and now the star is set to auction iconic photos from her infamous coffee table book.

The pictures will go under the hammer in New York City in October.

The book caused controversy when it was released back in 1992.

The auction is called Madonna x Meisel - The SEX Photographs.

The book was called SEX and was released in 1992, after Madonna teamed up with the photographer Steven Meisel.

Even though the auction is taking place in New York, there's a chance to see some of the photos at Christie's London between 23 May and 2 June.

The display will then head to Christie's Paris between 27 June and 6 July and Christie's New York from 30 September.

The auction will take place on October 6th.

More than 40 photographs will be up for auction.

Ever keen to help others, a portion of the proceeds will benefit Madonna's non-profit organisation Raising Malawi.

Madonna thanked the photographer on her Instagram story for allowing the proceeds to be donated.

"In the intervening 30 years since her infamous SEX book was released - shot exclusively in collaboration with Meisel - what has become clear is how truly iconic those photographs remain," said Darius Himes, Christie's Deputy Chairman and International Head of Photographs.

"They sit at a moment in art history of the late 20th century that both summarizes a moment, playful and prescient, and hints at the future of public stardom driven by image-conscious figures. These images are nothing short of brilliant."

The book was the fastest-selling coffee table book of all time when it was released.

A reissue came out in 2022 with Saint Laurent.
