Swifties everywhere couldn’t help but swoon after Taylor Swift swapped out some of the lyrics to her hit Karma in honour of new beau Travis Kelce.

The pop megastar kicked off the international leg of her Eras tour in Argentina over the weekend, and brought along NFL star Kelce, who was spotted watching on in the audience alongside Taylor’s father, Scott.

While performing Karma to the packed out Estadio River Plate Stadium, Taylor belted out the lyric ‘Karma is the guy on the screen coming straight home to me’, but instead sang ‘Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me’, in reference to Kelce’s American football team, the Kansas City Chiefs.

Not only did the audience and Swifties online love the lyric switch, they also spotted the sport star’s adorable reaction in a now-viral video, which shows a bashful Travis covering his face as fans scream around him.

Swifties across the globe rushed to social media to share their adoration at both the sweet nod to Kelce and his equally gushing reaction, with one writing: “Karma is the Guy on the Chiefs is a sign of in-love! And Travis Kelce and Papa Swift's reaction is a super proud Boyfriend and Dad!”

Another commented: “Taylor Swift has broken Twitter. She knows what she's doing,” while a third noted: “Look how Travis blushed like a school girl, so adorable.”

The timeline of the Travis and Taylor romance goes all the way back to July this year, when eagle-eyed fans spotted the Chiefs' Tight End in a private box watching Taylor perform at the Kansas Arrowhead Stadium. Rumours continued to swirl about the potential couple in September, when Taylor attended one of Travis’ NFL games.

While the couple have yet to ‘hard launch’ and confirm their romance publicly, the two have been spotted holding hands while out and about, and Taylor was seen kissing Kelce on Instagram in October.

Meanwhile, changing the lyrics to her hits isn’t new for Taylor, as she recently updated the words of her 2010 anthem, Better Than Revenge

When Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) was released in July, fans were quick to spot that the Style hit-maker switched up Better Than Revenge to make it more appropriate for 2023.

13 years after its initial release, the Shake It Off singer listened to fans’ concerns of potential misogynistic undertones by changing up the controversial lyric, which was: “She’s better known for the things that she does on the mattress.”

Now, the updated version sees Taylor sing: “He was a moth to the flame, she was holding the matches.”
