The Boss is at it again, and fans are very excited about the potential for new tunes on the horizon.

Bruce Springsteen was presented with the Woody Guthrie Prize last week.

As part of the ceremony, Bruce featured in a Q&A with Guthrie’s daughter Nora, and Grammy Museum Founding Executive Director Robert Santelli.

In his typical understated fashion, Springsteen casually dropped in the fact that he has a new album on the way.

“California was an enormous influence on some of my most topical writing through my ‘90s, 2000s and even now,” he said. “We have a record coming out soon that’s set largely in the West.”

As yet there aren't any further details about the album, so fans will just have to wait and see.

He's on a roll though, as in 2019, he released

That record was also influenced by the American West and Sixties/Seventies artists like Glen Campbell and Burt Bacharach.

He then released  last year, he recorded it with the E Street Band in just five days at his home studio in New Jersey.

Springsteen played a four-song acoustic set at the Woody Guthrie Prize event.

He played two Guthrie songs: “Tom Joad” and “Plane Wreck At Los Gatos (Deportee)."

Those songs hadn't been heard since 1997 and 1996 respectively.

He then played two Guthrie-inspired originals: “Across The Border” and “The Ghost of Tom Joad.”
