Spice Girls celebrate 25 years since the launch of debut hit Wannabe with new EP

Can you believe it's been 25 years since the Spice Girls and Wannabe smashed onto the music scene? And now the famous five are releasing a limited edition vinyl and cassette called Wannabe25 to mark the occasion in 1996.

Available to stream from July 9 and to buy two weeks later, it will include the classic single, a remix by Junior Vasquez (originally a bonus track on the 1996 '2 Become 1' CD Single), the original demo recording plus the previously unreleased ballad Feed Your Love alongside the social media tag #IAMASPICEGIRL.

With over 1.3 million CD singles and download sales, it's the longest-reigning number one by a girl group and the seventh best-selling debut single of all time.

Fans are being encouraged to share their Spice Girls memories on social media with Victoria Beckham blowing the minds of fans by joining in the nostalgia and supporting the LGBTQ+ community alongside Pride Month.

Posh Spice posted on Instagram wearing the charity t-shirt  ‘Proud and Wannabe your lover’, penning: “Pride to me is a celebration of being completely yourself and this year’s T-shirt is a reminder of that.

“The Spice Girls really championed accepting yourself and others, being kind, having fun and just living your best life.”

Wannabe topped the charts in 37 countries with their debut album Spice selling more than 31 million copies worldwide. They went onto winning a host of gongs including a BRIT Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music.
