Exciting news for fans of GnR, because, for the first time in nearly three decades, a new record featuring Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan is coming.

Guns N’ Roses’ new four-song EP, Hard Skool, will represent the first new release from Rose, Slash and McKagan for 28 years, after the latter two members re-joined the band in 2016. They left following the release of their 1993 studio album, The Spaghetti Incident.

The EP is named after its title track, the imminent release of which Axl Rose recently teased after one of the band’s shows on their US tour, when he played it to a fan backstage. A now-deleted twitter post said: “A fan met Axl Rose after the second Guns N’ Roses show in Atlantic City, NJ last night. She said he invited her backstage and they had a beer together. She also said she asked him about Hard Skool. He played the song for her and said they are releasing it soon.”

The EP will also feature Absurd which the band released in August. Both Hard Skool and Absurd were written during the band’s Chinese Democracy sessions.

The other two tracks on the EP are live versions of classic Guns N’ Roses tune Don’t Cry, and You’re Crazy from their debut album.

As is the band’s way, however, they are making fans wait a little while before they can get hold of the new EP, as it won’t be released until February next year. However, the single, Hard Skool, has now been unveiled, so you can give that a listen below:

The band are currently touring the US, and are playing some shows in the UK next year.

Here’s the Guns N’ Roses ‘Hard Skool’ EP tracklist:

  • Hard Skool

  • Absurd

  • Don’t Cry (Live)

  • You’re Crazy (Live)
