As Oasis celebrate the 25-year anniversary of their two unforgettable nights at Knebworth Park, Liam Gallagher has announced that he is going back to the site in 2022 for his own epic gig. Not only that, but he’s got a new album on the way as well!
Liam will be back at Knebworth to play the biggest show of his solo career to date on June 4th next year. He will be supported by Michael Kiwanuka and Kasabian, as well as Goat Girl, and Fat White Family.
Of the gig, Liam said: “I'm absolutely buzzing to announce that on 4th June 2022 I'll be playing Knebworth Park. It's gonna be biblical. C'mon You Know. LG x”
The massive open air show will follow the release of Liam's third solo studio album, which lands on May 27th, a few days before the Knebworth event. Entitled, C’mon You Know, the new record will aim to emulate the success of the Manchester artist’s previous studio albums, As You Were (2017) and Why Me? Why Not? (2019), both of which went to number one in the UK album charts. His MTV Unplugged record also went straight to the top spot.
If you are keen to be at the front of the queue for tickets for the Knebworth gig, than pay attention, because fans who pre-order the new album from Liam’s official website by 3pm on Wednesday October 6th will receive access to a pre-sale for Knebworth Park tickets that opens at 10am on Thursday, October 7th. Remaining tickets will then go on general sale on Friday, October 8th at LiveNation.co.uk and www.ticketmaster.co.uk/LGKnebworth.
When Liam steps on the stage at Knebworth, it will be close to 26 years since he did the same with Oasis back in 1996. Those seminal shows are currently being marked with the release of the feature-length documentary Oasis Knebworth 1996, which was released in cinemas in September.
It looks like 2022 is set to be a year to remember for Liam as well!
