James Bay has unveiled plans for a tour around the UK and Ireland alongside a music video for his most recent single, One Life.
The tour kicks off in the autumn of this year at the O2 Academy in Bournemouth on 20 November before calling at Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Edinburgh, Dublin and Birmingham, London and wrapping up at the O2 Academy in Bristol on 3 December.
Pre-sale tickets will go on sale at 9am next Wednesday (25 May) until 8am next Friday (27 May, and general sale will start at 9am the same day.
As well as announcing details for the tour, Bay also posted a video for his latest single, One Life, which, according to a press release, follows “a relationship between a couple, while milestone memories are captured in a way that resembles a very personal and intimate home movie”.
Watch the video below:
The song comes from Bay’s upcoming third studio album, titled Leap, due for release on 8 July via EMI Records/Republic Records.
In an adorable video uploaded to his Instagram, Bay revealed One Life was dedicated to Lucy Smith, his longtime girlfriend and the mother of his daughter Ada, who arrived last October.
The caption read: “I’ve never been great at sharing my private life on here. I’m ok with that. But I’m learning that sometimes it’s ok if the lines blur. All that said, music-making (and listening) is such a personal experience and you guys are amazing at sharing your experience of that with me. One Life is a song I wrote about the most precious and private part of my life, my relationship with Lucy.
“I didn’t know if I’d be able to sum it all up in one song, I’m still not sure I ever will, but this one feels like it got close. It’s about the realisation that for all the somethings I chase after, it’s actually just someone that I really need. Lucy has been next to me every step of the way, I feel extremely lucky that I get to say that.
"I hope this song can mean a lot to you too. It’s out everywhere on May 13th x”.
Leap will be released on 8 July and you can get tickets for the tour here.
