Suede announce new album Autofiction and intimate London tour dates

Suede have sent fans wild by announcing their return with their ninth studio album Autofiction. Due for release on September 16, the iconic band including Brett Anderson, Mat Osman, Simon Gilbert, Richard Oakes and Neil Codling went 'back to basics' for their new offering.

The band recorded at London’s Konk studios and revealed how they hired 'a rehearsal studio in deserted Kings Cross to collect a key, hump their own gear, set up and start playing'.

The first sneak peak of the album is single She Still Leads Me On, written to the lead singer's late mother.

Speaking about the new album, Brett Anderson said: "Autofiction is our punk record. No whistles and bells.

"Just the five of us in a room with all the glitches and f**k-ups revealed; the band themselves exposed in all their primal mess. Autofiction has a natural freshness, it’s where we want to be.”

Bass player Mat Osman added: “When we were rehearsing and writing this record it was this sheer, physical rush. That thing where you’re hanging on for dear life.”

Suede HQ wrote on Twitter: "If you pre-order today from the official store you will also receive exclusive access to a pre-sale for October's intimate shows at London's Electric Ballroom.

"And make sure you tune into http://suede.co.uk tonight from 8:30pm BST to hear the band play the song live from their Brussels show for the first time."

Suede will perform two special intimate shows at London’s Electric Ballroom on October 5 and October 6, with tickets on sale from May 27 here.
